Trusted by 40,000+ Pilgrims | 30+ Years of Experience

The Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra Tour Package from Delhi is a 7-day 2 Dham yatra that takes you to two of the most powerful and divine shrines in all of Hinduism — Kedarnath, the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva sitting at 3,584 metres in the Garhwal Himalayas, and Badrinath, the divine abode of Lord Vishnu at 3,133 metres in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Together, these two Dhams complete what is known as the Badrinath Kedarnath Do Dham Yatra, a journey that millions of devotees across India consider a spiritual milestone of a lifetime.

The faith in these two Dhams is not just ancient, it is growing stronger every single year. In the 2025 season, Kedarnath Dham welcomed a record-breaking 17.6 lakh devotees, while Badrinath received over 16.6 lakh pilgrims, marking a historic high for the Himalayan circuit.

At Chardham Package, we have been organising this Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra package from Delhi since 1995, bringing over 30 years of trusted on-ground experience to thousands of families. We are based right here in Haridwar, the gateway to these temples, ensuring real-time ground coordination, flexible scheduling, and zero dependency on distant city offices. Our complete 7-day package handles all your logistics, including Delhi pickup, Ganga Aarti at Haridwar, the Kedarnath trek from Gaurikund, evening temple darshans, verified hotel stays, Vegetarian meals, and full Biometric Registration and Yatra E-Pass assistance, so your only job is to pray.

Stories Behind Kedarnath and Badrinath Yatra: Why Crores of Hindus Believe

These are not just temples built from stone. Kedarnath and Badrinath are living stories, that have been passed from grandmothers to grandchildren, from saints to seekers, for thousands of years. When you understand why these two Dhams exist, the journey to reach them feels completely different.

Kedarnath — Where Lord Shiva Hid in the Himalayas

After the Kurukshetra war ended, the Pandavas were broken by guilt. They had won — but at the cost of their own blood. They walked into the Himalayas seeking Lord Shiva's forgiveness, the only absolution powerful enough to free their souls.

But Shiva was not ready to meet them. He disguised himself as a bull and merged into a herd of cattle grazing near Guptkashi. Bhima, the mightiest Pandava spotted him. When the Pandavas moved to catch him, the bull vanished into the earth — leaving only his hump above the ground.

That hump is what pilgrims worship at Kedarnath today. Lord Shiva's other body parts are believed to have appeared at four other places in the Garhwal Himalayas, together forming the divine Panch Kedar. Moved by the Pandavas' devotion, Shiva blessed them with forgiveness. They built the original temple here as an act of eternal gratitude.

In the 8th century, Adi Shankaracharya walked from Kerala to this very spot and restored the temple — breathing his last breath here. A shrine in his memory stands behind the temple to this day.

And in June 2013, a catastrophic flash flood destroyed everything in the Kedarnath valley. Everything, except the temple. A massive boulder came to rest directly behind it, deflecting the water like a shield. Pilgrims call it Bheem Shila. Many call it a miracle.

Kedarnath has never fallen. And millions believe it never will.

Badrinath — Where Lord Vishnu Chose to Stay

The name Badrinath comes from the word Badri — a plum tree. When Lord Vishnu sat deep in meditation in these cold Himalayan heights, Goddess Lakshmi herself appeared as a Badri tree, wrapping her branches around him to protect him from the snow, rain, and bitter cold. The Lord of the Badri, Badrinath.

The Skanda Purana — one of Hinduism's most sacred texts, says plainly: "There are many holy places on Earth, in heaven, and in the netherworld — but none is equal to Badrinath." The Vishnu Purana, the Bhagavad Gita, the Padma Purana — all speak of this valley as the place where the divine chose to dwell.

Every winter, the temple closes for six months under heavy Himalayan snow. Before the priests leave, they light the Akhand Jyoti — the eternal flame. When they return in spring and open the doors, that flame is still burning. Unattended. Undying. Every single year.

Near the temple, Mana Village holds Vyas Gufa, the cave where sage Vyas composed the Mahabharata. The Pandavas passed through here on their final journey to heaven. Pilgrims still perform Pind Daan at Brahmakapal here, offerings for departed ancestors, just as the Pandavas did thousands of years ago.

Why Crores Still Come — Every Single Year

No advertisement brings people to Kedarnath and Badrinath.

They come because a 1,200-year-old temple survived a flood that destroyed everything around it. They come because a flame burns for six months in an empty, snow-locked temple with no one watching. They come because their parents came, and their parents before them.

From 2022 to 2025, nearly 70 lakh devotees made the journey to Kedarnath alone. Not out of habit, but out of a faith so deep it has survived floods, centuries of snow, and the test of time itself.

When you finally stand at the door of these temples, after the drive from Delhi, after the trek, after the cold, you will not need anyone to explain why.

Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra Tour Package From Delhi: 7 Day Complete Itinerary

Day 01 — Delhi to Haridwar | 230 km | Approx. 6 Hours

Your Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra begins the moment our representative meets you at Delhi Railway Station or Airport. Get settled in the vehicle and we begin the drive towards Haridwar with a comfortable en-route lunch stop.

On arrival, check in to your hotel and freshen up. In the evening, head to the world-famous Har-Ki-Pauri Ghat for the breathtaking Ganga Aarti — rows of diyas floating on the holy Ganga as hundreds of devotees chant together.

It is the perfect spiritual beginning to your Do Dham Yatra from Delhi. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02 — Haridwar to Rudraprayag | 165 km | Approx. 6 Hours +

After a warm breakfast, we drive towards Rudraprayag — one of the most sacred river confluence towns on the entire Kedarnath Badrinath yatra route.

On the way, stop to witness the magnificent Tehri Dam — one of the tallest dams in the world, sitting over a stunning reservoir of deep blue water in the middle of the mountains.

Further ahead, we pass the holy confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers at Rudraprayag itself, a spiritually significant spot that pilgrims have revered for centuries.

Check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

Day 03 — Rudraprayag to Kedarnath and Back | 30 km Road + 16 km Trek +

This is the most significant day of your entire Kedarnath Badrinath tour package, the day you meet Lord Shiva.

After an early breakfast, we drive towards Gaurikund via the ancient town of Guptkashi — home to the sacred Vishwanath Temple, where Lord Shiva is believed to have rested during his journey through the Central Himalayas. From Gaurikund, your 16 km trek to the Kedarnath Dham (3,583 meters) begins. You can trek on foot, by pony, or by doli — the choice is entirely yours (cost not included in package).

As you climb higher, the air gets cooler, the mountains get closer, and the world gets quieter — until the ancient stone temple of Lord Shiva appears before you. Attend the evening Aarti at Kedarnath temple if time permits, seek the blessings of Baba Kedar, and begin your descent back to Gaurikund. Drive back to Rudraprayag for dinner and overnight stay.

Tip from our team: Start your trek by 5:00 AM to avoid afternoon cloud cover and ensure comfortable darshan timing.

Day 04 — Rudraprayag to Badrinath | 165 km | Approx. 7 Hours +

After breakfast, we begin the scenic mountain drive from Rudraprayag to Badrinath Dham, the second and final dham of your Kedarnath Badrinath yatra package. The road passes through dense forests, dramatic river gorges, and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes.

En route, we stop at Joshimath — the winter seat of Lord Badrinath, to visit the Narsingh Temple and the historic Shankaracharya Math, established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. If you wish, Joshimath is also the base for Auli — one of India's finest ski resorts, which you can visit at your own expense for a short detour.

On arrival at Badrinath, check in to your hotel, freshen up, and attend the magnificent evening Aarti at Badrinath Temple, one of the most visually stunning temple rituals in all of India, set against the towering backdrop of the Nar and Narayan mountain peaks. Overnight stay at Badrinath.

Day 05 — Badrinath Local Sightseeing + Drive to Rudraprayag +

Begin your morning with a holy dip in Tapt Kund — the natural hot sulphur spring just outside the Badrinath temple — before the morning Darshan of Lord Badrivishal. Then explore the spiritually rich landscape around the temple:

  • Mana Village — India's last village before the Tibet border, just 3 km from the temple.
  • Vyas Gufa — the cave where Sage Vyas dictated the Mahabharata to Lord Ganesha.
  • Charanpaduka — the sacred rock bearing the footprint of Lord Vishnu.
  • Bhim Kund — the natural pool where Bhima is said to have quenched his thirst during the Pandava exile.
  • Origin of the Saraswati River — the mythical river believed to disappear underground at this very point.

After sightseeing, we begin the drive back towards Rudraprayag. On the way, we pass three of the Panch Prayag, the five sacred river confluences of the Garhwal Himalayas:

  • Vishnuprayag — confluence of Alaknanda and Dhauliganga.
  • Nandprayag — confluence of Alaknanda and Nandakini.
  • Karnaprayag — confluence of Alaknanda and Pindar.

Each of these confluences carries its own mythology and quiet spiritual power. Arrive at Rudraprayag for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 06 — Rudraprayag to Haridwar | 165 km | Approx. 6 Hours +

After breakfast, we begin the drive back towards Haridwar, but the journey is far from ordinary.

On the way, we pass Devprayag, the most sacred of all the Panch Prayag, where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet and together become the Ganga for the very first time. A short stop here is deeply moving for many pilgrims.

We then drive into Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world, for a walk across the iconic Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula suspension bridges over the Ganga, and a peaceful stop at Vashishta Gufa — the ancient cave ashram of the sage Vashishta.

After lunch in Rishikesh, we continue to Haridwar. Check in to your hotel for the final night of your Kedarnath Badrinath tour package from Delhi.

Day 07 — Haridwar to Delhi | 230 km | Approx. 6 Hours +

Your Do Dham Yatra ends as beautifully as it began in Haridwar. After breakfast, visit three of the city's most beloved temples before we head back:

  • Daksh Temple — believed to be the site of the grand Daksha Yajna from the Puranas.
  • Shri Yantra Temple — a rare and powerful Shakti shrine in the heart of Haridwar.
  • Maya Devi Temple — one of the oldest Shakti Peethas in India, and the presiding deity of Haridwar itself.

After temple visits, we begin the final drive back to Delhi. Our team drops you at Delhi Railway Station or Airport by evening, completing your 7-day Kedarnath and Badrinath yatra package from Delhi.

We hope you carry back more than memories, peace, blessings, and a feeling of spiritual completeness that stays with you long after the journey ends.

Altitude & Health Advisory For Your Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra

The Kedarnath and Badrinath yatra route involves a dramatic gain in altitude over just 2 to 3 days. Delhi sits at 216 metres above sea level. Kedarnath sits at 3,584 metres. That is a gain of over 3,300 metres in under 72 hours — which is why Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is a real and serious consideration for every pilgrim, regardless of age or fitness level.

AMS Symptoms to Watch For:

  • Headache, nausea, dizziness, or loss of appetite at high altitude
  • Breathlessness even during light activity or rest
  • Confusion, chest tightness, or inability to walk straight — these are emergency signs

Prevention Tips:

  • Drink 3 to 4 litres of water every day — dehydration accelerates AMS significantly
  • Walk slowly on trek day — do not rush the ascent no matter how fit you feel
  • Rest well at Guptkashi (1,319 metres) the night before the Kedarnath trek — this is your natural acclimatisation stop
  • Avoid alcohol completely during the yatra — it worsens altitude effects
  • Do not take sleeping pills at altitude — they suppress breathing

Who Must Consult a Doctor Before This Yatra:

  • Pilgrims above 60 years of age
  • Anyone with a heart condition, blood pressure issue, or breathing disorder
  • Diabetic pilgrims on insulin
  • Anyone who has had a recent surgery or hospitalisation

Medicines to Carry:

  • Diamox (Acetazolamide) — for altitude sickness prevention (take only on doctor's advice)
  • Paracetamol — for headache and mild fever
  • ORS sachets and electrolyte powder
  • Antacids and anti-diarrhoeal tablets
  • Your regular prescription medicines with extra supply for 2 additional days

Safety Promise: Every vehicle in our Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra package from Delhi carries a basic first-aid kit and a pulse oximeter for continuous oxygen level monitoring throughout your journey.

Frequently Asked Questions — Kedarnath Badrinath Tour Package 2026

Q1. How many days are enough for Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra from Delhi?

+

7 days is the ideal duration for a comfortable Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra from Delhi. This gives you enough time for the drive from Delhi, proper rest at Haridwar, the 16 km Kedarnath trek, full Badrinath Darshan with local sightseeing at Mana Village, and a smooth return to Delhi. Rushing it in less than 7 days means skipping rest days — which significantly increases the risk of altitude sickness and exhaustion, especially at Kedarnath (3,584 metres).

Q2. Which should I visit first — Kedarnath or Badrinath?

+

The traditional Char Dham Yatra follows a west-to-east direction. So if you are doing only the Do Dham Yatra, the correct order is Kedarnath first, then Badrinath. This is not just religious tradition — it also makes practical travel sense. The Kedarnath route comes before Badrinath when driving from Haridwar, so following this sequence saves time, avoids backtracking, and keeps your journey smooth.

Q3. What is the cost of Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra package from Delhi in 2026?

+

Our 7-day Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra Package from Delhi starts at ₹29,500 per person — fully inclusive of hotels, daily breakfast and dinner, AC transport with a certified mountain driver, biometric registration assistance, and 24×7 on-ground support from our Haridwar base. The final price may vary based on group size, vehicle type, accommodation upgrade, or add-ons like helicopter service for Kedarnath. Contact our team for a free personalised quote within 24 hours.

Q4. Is the Kedarnath trek mandatory or can I go by helicopter?

+

The Kedarnath trek is not mandatory — it is a choice. If you walk regularly and practise stairs, the 16 km trek is manageable. For seniors or those not physically fit, pony or palki is a better option. Helicopter services are also available from Phata, Sirsi, and Guptkashi helipads — covering the distance in under 10 minutes. However, helicopter booking happens only through the official platform — avoid private or random links, and treat the helicopter as comfort, not a guarantee, as weather can cause cancellations. We can arrange helicopter tickets on request as part of your Do Dham package.

Q5. Is registration mandatory for Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra 2026?

+

Yes — registration is absolutely mandatory for both Kedarnath and Badrinath in 2026. QR scanning happens at checkpoints, and without registration you cannot proceed ahead. Registration is completely free and can be done online at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in or through the Tourist Care Uttarakhand app. You will need your Aadhaar card and mobile number for OTP verification. When you book your Kedarnath Badrinath package with us, our team handles the entire registration process for you — no confusion, no missed steps.

Q6. What is the best time to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath?

+
Month Suitability Reasons
April Opening Temple opens, partial snow left, fewer crowds
May–June Best Time Clear weather, full accessibility, peak season
July–August Avoid Heavy monsoon, landslide risk, frequent route disruptions
September–October Excellent Post-monsoon greenery, cool weather, thin crowds
Late October Last Chance Temple closing soon, temperatures dropping rapidly

Most pilgrims prefer May–June and September–October. The weather is stable, the trek is manageable, and the Kedarnath valley looks exceptionally beautiful. Even in April there can still be snow near the temple.

Q7. What is the Kedarnath Darshan timing in 2026?

+

The Kedarnath Temple Darshan timings are Morning Darshan from 4:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Evening Darshan from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. During the most powerful and busiest period around May–June, the queue can stretch up to 6 hours, so we always recommend reaching the temple before sunrise if possible to minimise waiting time and maximise the morning Darshan without rushing the trek.

Q8. What happens if bad weather disrupts the Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra mid-trip?

+

This is one of the most important questions every pilgrim should ask before booking. The Himalayan weather changes rapidly. Heavy rainfall, landslides, or helicopter cancellations are possible on the Do Dham route. When you travel with us, we handle all such contingencies from our Haridwar base in real time. If a government-declared travel halt or natural disruption occurs, our team will coordinate the safest available route or stay extension and help you resume your journey as soon as conditions permit.

Q9. Is it mandatory to do Kedarnath Badrinath Yatra in the traditional sequence (Kedarnath → Badrinath)?

+

There is no strict rule enforcing the sequence, so technically it will not stop you if you visit Badrinath before Kedarnath. However, the traditional, correct and widely followed order is Kedarnath first, then Badrinath — a route most seasoned travellers and caretakers of Hindu pilgrimages recommend. Practically, this sequence also makes complete travel sense — Kedarnath comes before Badrinath on the road from Haridwar, so following it saves time, avoids backtracking, and keeps your 7-day itinerary efficient.

Q10. Is it traditionally correct to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath before Yamunotri and Gangotri?

+

The traditional sequence is Yamunotri → Gangotri → Kedarnath → Badrinath — but it is not mandatory. Following this order is simply believed to be more auspicious. No Hindu scripture actually commands that you must follow this sequence as a strict rule — what the tradition truly says is that each dham prepares you spiritually for the next. So it’s just about which Dham calls you first.
